![]() They are not performance oriented, however. They are quiet, long lasting, all season RFT. They use the same rubber compound as the Turanza with Serenity (a top of the line Bridgestone tire) with the added benefit of being RFT. At the moment, I think Driveguard is a very good value. As more manufactures remove spare tires to meet CAFE requirements, more and more runflat tires will start to be more cost competitive as the laws of mass production start to take effect. Bridgestone is selling these at a cost not much higher than standard tires and throwing in free road hazard coverage to get the ball rolling. In order to crack that market with non luxury brand cars the price point had to come down. Driveguard tires are trying to open the market of runflats as replacements for vehicles that did not come with them as original equipment. Wet traction is great and grip (for an all season run flat) is good. (Disclaimer: I work for Bridgestone) That being said, I have driven DriveGuards on several BMWs, including an M3 during the rollout and in numerous conditions. ![]()
